On the 8-10 April at the Birmingham NEC, this year’s Health & Safety Event will connect over 13,000 visitors, more than 350 exhibitors, and 10,000+ products and solutions – all exploring the latest insights, regulatory changes, updates, and case studies when it comes to worksite safety.
We will be on stand 3/J62 to discuss the many ways that our field management software can help companies become safer and more compliant.
The show features five main seminar areas – and we’ve listed some of the seminar highlights below.
Keynote Theatre
The Future of Work (8 April 10.45)
Following on from her interview on the IOSH podcast, IOSH president Kelly Nicholl will delve further into the ‘future of work’ at the show. She’ll likely cover mental health issues, and may cover the eye-opening statistics driving ‘The Lost City’ awareness campaign – the ‘city that will never be built because the 7,000 construction workers it would take to build it have died by suicide in the last decade.
Mental Health in a multi-generational workforce (8 April 11.30)
Following on from years of mental health campaigning that have helped her achieve her MBE, Natasha Devon will lead a discussion on mental health in a multi-generational workforce. At Re-flow we keep an eye on broader industry issues like addressing recruitment gaps and attracting the best of new apprentices. With generational differences in the UK often poles apart, Natasha’s experience and passion on the topic should be an eye opener.
Practical Safety Theatre
Women in Health and Safety (8 April 14.45)
Heather Beach, director of Healthy Working, and award-winning HSE recruiter, Laura Aucott, will be discussing issues like supporting women in male-dominated sectors, the importance of diversity, and skills for building careers in health and safety. We’re not alone in noting the declining proportion of women in construction careers over the last year, and forward-thinking, proactive steps and perspectives are needed to keep our industries healthy and productive.
