Key benefits
User-Friendly Scheduling and App
TMO Highways find Re‑flow’s scheduling feature intuitive and easy to use. This has increased operational efficiency and saved time. The simplicity of the app has also provided a painless adoption process for operatives in the field.
Seamless Data Transfer and Quote Generation
Communication and document control between the office and site is now instant, facilitating ISO 9001 and simplifying quote generation. TMO Highways benefits from real-time oversight of every job, eliminating information lag and miscommunication.
Significant Cost and Time Savings
TMO Highways used to pay for multiple pieces of software to cover different functions, which was expensive. With Re‑flow they have one tool that does everything. They save over a day of admin time when invoicing each job, and between £1,000 – 1,500 a month.
Summary
TMO Highways, a specialist in planning, traffic management, pedestrian management, and event management, started using Re-flow 18 months ago. They needed a comprehensive field management solution for their commercial, scheduling, operational, and finance needs.
Re-flow’s support team ensured a smooth transition and made the software an indispensable tool. Now TMO create all their quotes on the system. They save costs and time and are moving closer to becoming a paperless office.

Organisation details
TMO Highways, established in 2014, is a traffic management company operating in East Anglia, London, and the South East of England.
Over the last decade they’ve grown their business across various industries, including utilities, infrastructure, construction, and rail (in both planned and reactive works).
They are National Highways Sector Scheme approved to carry out 12 A, B & D traffic management classification, they have their Achilles UVBD and BSI accreditation for ISO9001/2015, ISO45001, and ISO14001, and they are Constructionline Gold certified. They also maintain various other industry standards.
Challenges
Before their switch to Re-flow, TMO Highways started using a rival field management solution, but it felt inefficient, difficult to use, and lacking in its ability to cover the processes and workflows they needed.
They believed that a stronger piece of software would lead to better efficiency savings and a stronger workplace.
Aim
The company wanted a single end-to-end piece of field management software that could give them complete oversight of the business – one they could use in their commercial, scheduling, operational, and finance departments.
They wanted software that could cover quoting, planning, invoicing and reporting. And they wanted to find a software partner capable of transferring all of their forecast and job data. For this, they required a strong onboarding and support team capable of truly understanding their business.
We streamlined our existing processes and eliminated paperwork and any repetitive actions. And because the system is customisable we were able to make changes almost immediately without any development cost.
Solution
After exploring alternative software options, TMO Highways chose Re-flow’s field management software for its comprehensive features and customisation capabilities. The key benefits of Re-flow for TMO Highways included:
- Outreach: The Re-flow team were able to visit TMO Highways in order to spend time with the company and analyse their existing processes. ‘This was really well received by our staff and gave them a lot of confidence with using the software,’ they said.
- User-Friendly Scheduling and App: Re-flow’s drag-and-drop scheduling feature is intuitive and easy to use, speeding up and streamlining customer workflows.
- Integrated Systems: Re-flow gave TMO Highways the ability to use a single piece of software throughout their overall job process – from tender and quoting, to invoicing and reporting.
- Environmental and Workflow Efficiencies: Re-flow offers the kind of across-the-board efficiency savings, in relation to time and exertion, that add up to huge savings. These come from automated forms, speedier scheduling, and so on.
- Seamless Data Transfer and Quote Generation: Re-flow’s app allows seamless data transfer between site and office. This reduces time spent on administrative tasks and improves overall project management.

Results
‘We would definitely recommend Re-flow,’ TMO Highways said. ‘It’s embedded within the business now, and caters to all of our departmental requirements. The support team have been excellent, and we’ve picked up jobs we would previously have missed.’
They use Re-flow throughout the business:
- The admin team use Re-flow as a CRM system. All of their client and job information is in the program, so the need for an electronic job file has been eliminated.
- TMO Highways efficiently organise their files on a job/contract basis, so that all their permits, CAD, attachments, surveys, and emails are in an easy-to-access location. For example, the entry for a road closure project could have a CAD design, advanced warning signage, a letterdrop, and production of special signage entry, with tasks assigned for each.
- Re-flow is used for inputting and managing TMO Highways’ operational workflow, including point of risk assessments, paperwork, site photos, maintenance reporting, and site clear.
- The team use the software for scheduling, and allocating and assigning relevant jobs across every division in the company.
- The commercial team use Re-flow for producing quotes, estimates, and target costs for every job.
- The finance team use the software to create invoices for works undertaken.
‘The team reacted very well to the implementation of the system,’ TMO explained. ‘We streamlined our existing processes and eliminated paperwork and any repetitive actions. And because the system is customisable we were able to make changes almost immediately without any development cost – the custom form builder was intuitive, and we were able to make changes easily.’
‘Our team can’t do without the scheduling feature. I’ve also been really impressed by how easy it is to create our quotes, and how these can be adapted and amended with little effort and time.’
What’s more, the environmental boosts have been significant. TMO Highways have become closer than ever to becoming a paperless business, which in turn, along with a reduction in carbon output through eliminating wasted journeys and removing the need to drop off paperwork, is helping them with their environmental targets. Paper job packs are no more. And the reduction in paperwork now hits 40%.
